THE CROWNE PLAZA RAVINIA, Atlanta’s premier hotel on the city’s northern rim, was recognized by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)] with the Company’s 2006 Renovation Award.  The hotel recently completed an $8 million renovation that included all 495 guestrooms and suites, as well as the hotel’s lobby and public spaces, restaurants, and lounges.  The Crowne Plaza Ravinia was specifically recognized for its outstanding renovations to the hotel’s public space that includes a contemporary lobby design with an Asian influence that offers an excellent environment to fulfill Crowne Plaza’s "The Place to Meet"  brand promise.  New lobby amenities and services include:

  • A business center located in the middle of the lobby with four state-of-the art work stations with complimentary internet access and an available color printer.
  • A new lobby coffee shop, Sylvia’s,  featuring Starbucks coffee and light breakfast pastries, breads and snacks "on the go"
  • Ivories Lounge, which is newly designed with flat screen TV's, a pool table and a unique selection of appetizers and cocktails.
  • The Library, a quiet zone for intimate meetings and for reading
  • A new gift shop  that offers a variety of sundries and souvenir gifts from Atlanta

InterContinental Hotels Group Renovation Award is given to select hotels that successfully completed major modernization and renovation programs during the past year. The Crowne Plaza Ravinia was honored at a special ceremony held during the 2006 IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference in Toronto.  IHG is the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms. 

About the Crowne Plaza Ravinia
The Crowne Plaza Ravinia welcomes guests into its signature lobby that features a greenhouse-type space with a waterfall overlooking beautiful gardens.  Although a tranquil setting inside, the hotel is conveniently located in Atlanta’s thriving north side business district near Perimeter Mall and adjacent to Fortune 500 companies, abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities.  In addition, it is minutes by car or by MARTA (Atlanta’s rapid rail system) to historic Buckhead, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Atlanta’s attractions.

The hotel offers 495 completely refurbished guest rooms, including 43 suites.  All guestrooms are decorated with handsome wood furnishings and feature a flat screen TV, or plasma TV in the suites.  There is also new lighting complete with dimmer switches, outlets conveniently placed on lamps and the desk, ergonomic desk chairs and a lounge chair.   The bathrooms are completely remodeled for contemporary tastes and include bowed shower curtains, granite countertops, and shelving for towels and personal toiletries.   Each guestroom is also tailored for the new Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantageprogram.  Every sleeping room, offers a holistic approach to a better night's sleep and includes: new beds featuring seven layers of comfort, quiet zones, sleep CD and relaxation tips, sleep amenities and a guaranteed wake-up call, or your room is free.  Additional guest services include a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, two restaurants, and a business center.

For meetings there is over 32,000 square feet of conference space.  The hotel features The Place to Meet program -- a comprehensive meeting experience that includes a two-hour response guarantee for all new meeting or event requests; a dedicated Crowne Meeting Director to lend expert assistance during the planning and execution of your event; and a daily meeting debrief to include an itemized accounting of your bill to date, and assist in meeting your budgetary needs.
