ROBERT J. NEWMAN has been named general manager for Ocean Edge Resort & Club on Cape Cod in Brewster, MA. Newman is an award-winning member of the Boston travel industry, who brings over 20 years of hospitality management experience and has set a goal to raise the bar on the guest experience at Ocean Edge. He will oversee the 429-acre resort’s operations and its 500 employees.
Newman will be responsible for operating Ocean Edge Resort & Club through the multi-million dollar project that includes a $6 million total redesign of the golf course by Nicklaus Design. The course is slated to be completed in its entirety by October, with the front nine holes debuting Memorial Day weekend. Other elements of the renovation include an expansion of the Linx Clubhouse, a members-only lounge and revamped locker rooms.
