Radisson Resorts has named five executive appointments to the sales department of RADISSON ARUBA RESORT & CASINO . The team will lead efforts for the flagship Caribbean property that is home to the brand new oceanfront Larimar Spa and will be instrumental in the launch of Radisson Resort St. Martin, slated to open in early 2008.

“This is an exciting time for Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino as leisure market bookings are up significantly and our resort continues to receive accolades for its superior cuisine, outstanding facilities and service,” states Francis Purvey, director of sales and marketing for Radisson Resorts Aruba & St. Martin. “We are delighted with the talent and experience this group of executives brings to Radisson Resorts as new amenities are unveiled including the Plaza Club and Larimar Spa.”

DENIS HERRON has been named director of leisure sales, responsible for outreach to the travel industry. Herron, a professional hockey player in the NHL for 14 seasons, brings 20 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry to Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino after retiring from the game. Herron previously served as director of sales and marketing of Embassy Suites on Singer Island located in Palm Beach County and most recently was director of sales and marketing for the Palm Beach Airport Hilton.

MAUREEN MORGENTHIEN, a 25-year veteran in the tourism industry, joins the team as director of marketing, bringing her extensive experience in destination marketing to Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. Morgenthien began her career on the executive team opening a resort in the Bahamas and later served as marketing representative in the Southeast region for The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. Most recently, Morgenthien held the position of director of tourism sales and marketing for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

CATHY JONES has joined the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino team as director of incentive sales for the property.  Jones brings more than 15 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience with high-profile hotel, golf and convention organizations in the Orlando area and will be responsible for the incentive markets worldwide in her new role.

Based in Aruba, JANICE MANNES is a newly named sales manager for Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino, responsible for the on-island corporate and groups markets throughout the Caribbean. Previously, she was with Hyatt Corporation, where she completed multiple training programs in the company and directed various projects at the Aruba property.

MARCIAL F. "CHARLY has been named an industry representative for Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino, responsible for promoting the property to the travel agent community throughout the New York area. A fixture in the tourism industry, “Charly” has been a strong advocate of Aruba’s hospitality product for more than 25 years. He previously served with the Aruba Tourism Authority, where he oversaw marketing efforts for the island and received its first “Lifetime Achievement Award”. Additionally he has been affiliated with the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association as director of business development and was director of leisure group sales and destination weddings with Meet Aruba.
