Edith Macy Conference Center recently donated 80 beds to FOOD FOR THE POOR, www.foodforthepoor.org, the service that provides food, housing, health care, education, water projects, micro-enterprise development assistance and emergency relief to those in significant need.  The Food For The Poor organization is headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida and provides extensive assistance to people in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.  Edith Macy Conference Center had recently engaged in an upgrade of the property’s bedding.  The donation of beds was part of the Hometown Hospitality - Caring for Our Communities initiative of Benchmark Hospitality International, which operates Edith Macy Conference Center.

“In planning a significant upgrade to our guestroom mattresses, we looked for options other than disposing of the previous bedding.” stated David Vogt, general manager of Edith Macy.  "Our housekeeping manager, Jean Otto, did some digging and found a perfect fit in the Food for the Poor organization.  We were all very pleased to have the beds put to such good use.”
