Honorees were recognized among Marriott International, Inc’s (NYSE: MAR) worldwide brand portfolio of more than 450 Marriott, Renaissance and JW Marriott hotels for sales and service excellence. The Sales Leadership Award, presented to John Klukan, general manager of the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center in Oklahoma, recognizes general managers who have personally shown great sales expertise, been involved in advancing the sales effort at their hotel, and have achieved excellent sales results. Additionally, under Klukan’s leadership, the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center achieved high RevPAR Index growth and exceptional guest satisfaction survey results among Marriott Rewards Elite Members, which earned it the Market Excellence and Customer Excellence-Elite Recognition awards.
The Spirit to Service our Communities Award, presented to Tom Dwyer, general manager of the Renaissance Dallas-Richardson Hotel in Texas, recognizes general managers who have made extraordinary efforts and achieved exceptional results with programs to better the communities in which they do business. Dwyer and the Renaissance Dallas-Richardson Hotel developed various community events for local area schools and children, such as the hotel’s annual Breakfast with Frosty event and Richardson ISD Career Fair.
The Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel in North Carolina was recognized in the Customer Excellence-Problem Experienced category as one of the hotels that received the fewest problems reported by guests on Guest Satisfaction Surveys.
