FORWARD TO A FRIEND CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Renaissance Hotels & Resorts has appointed DAVID S. KEAMY, CMP* as director of sales and marketing for the new Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel.  The hotel will be the first Renaissance property in the downtown Boston area and is on schedule to open in December 2007.  A twenty-five year industry veteran and native New Englander, Keamy will be responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing for the 471-room hotel, which is currently under construction in the city’s emerging South Boston Waterfront District.

Robust interest in this hotel development, coupled with Keamy’s highly respected reputation in the industry, is allowing him to assemble an elite sales team.  Already in position and serving the needs of group customers are: Perry Kessler, Director of Hotel Sales, and Evan Empey, Citywide Senior Account Executive, Market Sales, Boston.  Competition for additional sales and service positions will be brisk, as cream-of-the-crop candidates vie for an opportunity to be part of this opening team.

The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel will be situated on the South Boston Waterfront, within the 1,000-acre, mixed-use development called the Seaport District.  Directly east of Boston’s Financial District, this location offers outstanding water and city views, as well as proximity to the new Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, downtown Boston and Logan International Airport.  Cambridge, MA architects, Stubbins Associates, created the sleek 21-story building, which animates the waterfront skyline, like the sails of a ship running before the wind.  The hotel’s interior design, crafted by Beverly Hills, CA-based Cheryl Rowley, carries marine-inspired elements throughout the custom-crafted artwork, furnishings and fixtures.

The Renaissance Boston Waterfront will feature 471 guestrooms, including 21 suites.  The hotel will be equipped with helpful amenities and the latest technology, including flat panel TVs, connectivity panels for laptops and MP3 players.  Over 20,700 square feet of meeting space, including a 10,700 square-foot ballroom and a 4,400 square-foot junior ballroom will be available, and will offer state-of-the-art technology, including wireless Internet access throughout.  The hotel’s onsite restaurant, Georges Bank Bistro, will feature fresh seafood creations, outdoor seating, a chef’s table and an exhibition kitchen.  In addition, guests will enjoy a Starbucks® Café, lobby lounge, a fitness center with lap pool, spa treatment rooms and an outdoor terrace, as well as a 24-hour business center.

Keamy most recently served as area director of marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Boston.   His previous posts include serving as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau from 2001 to 2003; director of sales and marketing for the Boston Marriott Copley Place from 1996 to 2001; and director of sales and marketing for the Boston Marriott Long Wharf from1988 to 1996.
