LEO CHANDLER, a 20-year veteran with Marriott International was appointed Area General Manager at the 601-room St. Louis Airport Marriott, according to Marriott International Regional Vice President, Bob Farmery. Chandler was formerly the General Manager at the Toronto Airport Marriott, in Toronto, Canada. “This seasoned hotelier brings a wealth of knowledge and industry expertise to our thriving marketplace and I’m proud to welcome him back to the United States and to our management team,” stated Farmery.
Chandler joined the award-winning Marriott family in 1987 as Assistant Restaurant Manager at the Omaha Marriott, in Omaha, Nebraska. He served as Director of Food & Beverage at the Graylyn Conference Center and the Aberdeen Woods Conference Center before stepping into the General Manager’s seat at the Edith Macy Conference Center. Due to his outstanding leadership over the years, he was selected grand opening General Manager for the Kingsgate Conference Hotel at the University of Cincinnati. In 2000, he was also responsible for establishing the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Marriott Business Council, which is still in existence today. A graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in Economics, Leo will reside in St. Louis with his wife, Wendy.
