Benchmark Hospitality has announced the completion of extensive renovations for THE CHATTANOOGAN, Tennessee's Urban Resort located in the heart of Chattanooga. The property has been comprehensively updated with a rich new color palette, new furnishings and soft goods. Included in the renovation were guestrooms, guest suites, lobby and The Foundry Bar. Looney and Associates of Dallas concepted and oversaw all interior design work for the renovations.
“We’ve offered an exciting oasis in an urban setting since our hotel opened,” said Scott Spann, general manager. “Now we’re fresh again with a wonderful new ambiance that helps guests feel immediately comfortable in spaces custom-designed for their enjoyment.”
As guests enter the tastefully refurbished lobby of the six-year old property, they receive their first introduction to the “new” Chattanoogan. New furniture and area rugs give the comfortable space a living room feel with updated artwork and a warm palette of earth tones, reds and neutral colors. One of guests' favorite features of the lobby, the massive see-through fireplace that connects the east and west sections, remains in place.
The Chattanoogan's elegant guest suites have been renovated and enhanced with new furnishings, Sealy Plush 700 beds and new bed linens. The suites are outfitted with decorator rugs, window coverings and cozy, overstuffed furniture, ideal for relaxing after a busy day. The soothing color palette of soft blues, browns and neutral tones lends a feeling of casual elegance to the suites.
Each guestroom received new beds as well as luxurious bed linens, enhancing guest comfort throughout the property. New linens included hypoallergenic down comforters, plush pillow top mattress pads and top-of-the-line triple-sheeted bedding. Richly colored throws and decorator pillows complement the ensemble. Guestrooms received a contemporary color palette featuring shades of brown, white and red. New floor and window treatments as well as selected furnishings were installed.
The Chattanoogan's upscale jazz and martini bar, The Foundry, has also undergone a significant makeover, with the five senses actively incorporated in the refurbishing: sight, sound, touch, taste and scent.
Vibrant colors and textured fabrics were combined in The Foundry with colorful artwork to provide an inviting yet exciting atmosphere in which to gather. Carpet was removed and exposed concrete floors were given a sleek new acid stain treatment. Digital artwork on plasma displays and red stools and banquettes were added and a new seating configuration allows for enhanced guest interaction. New fabrics installed included leather, vinyl and a cotton-linen blend.
Additionally, sound has been enhanced with music that now incorporates jazz, adult contemporary and classic rock, changing throughout the day and evening, depending upon the time. Volume is adjusted based on the number of guests enjoying the bar.
Taste has been stimulated with a new appetizer menu that blends flavor and texture to please the palate as much as the eyes. The menu changes seasonally, and includes old standards and “sure to become favorites,” such as Italian herb chicken Panini, Kobe beef burger, grilled steak sandwich, and heirloom angel hair pasta.
Also new in The Foundry is a unique, scent-delivery system that distributes a subtle pleasing fragrance throughout the lounge. Madagascar, an earthy, sweet scent, is dispensed in the air based on the number of guests in the bar at the time.
