ELDORADO HOTEL & SPA, Santa Fe, NM is nearing completion of a $10.5 million renovation, with the final product set to debut November 2007.  Spanning less than a year, this latest eight-figure project highlights the hotel’s authentic New Mexican spirit, while refreshing the interior with innovative design, furniture and fabrics.  Combining the area’s rich cultural heritage with easy elegance, the lobby, guestrooms, fitness center and meeting space were all upgraded in this latest renovation designed to enhance the guest experience at this four-diamond property.    

The lobby now welcomes guests with old-world Santa Fe charm, featuring a new front desk and bell stand built by Ernest Thompson, a time-honored local producer of handcrafted Southwestern furniture. Custom chandeliers and sconces, reminiscent of the Spanish Colonial style and part of New Mexico’s rich cultural history, brighten this space. Textile art, depicting traditional designs from the Museum of New Mexico archives, complete the authentic New Mexican feel in the lobby.  

All 219 guestrooms were redone, incorporating striking photographs by renowned local artist Willis F. Lee.  The color palette of the rooms reflect the Southwest landscape, using earth tones, sky blue and sage green, accented with fabrics from the legacy of local weaving artisans and decorative pillows based on traditional Native American Textile patterns.    

Other upgrades include the fitness facility doubling in size and enhancements to the 20,000 square feet of meeting and function space, including Santa Fe’s largest ballroom.  All 12 meeting rooms feature state-of-the-art audio visual equipment.  With the group, social and wedding markets in mind, custom lighting brings decorative warmth to the meeting facilities while tribal carpet patterns and earth-toned upholstered walls further evoke the textile theme reflective of the local landscape.  From intimate gatherings of 16 to lavish receptions for 600 guests, the hotel’s facilities can easily be transformed into the ideal setting for a variety of functions.
