FORWARD TO A FRIEND CALENDAR OF EVENTS

When it opens in January 2008, the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel will offer guests a DS-3 line (which operates 28x faster than the speed of a T-1), innovative guestroom plug-in technology and wired and wireless Internet available on the same network throughout the property’s 471 guestrooms and over 21,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space.

The DS-3 line serves up 45Mbps of secure and flexible network service offering travelers, regardless of bandwidth requirements, the ability to stream video, host video conferences and run their largest internet-based presentations -- simultaneously -- without anyone having to sacrifice speed.  Wireless and wired access is available on the same secure network throughout the hotel’s public space (meaning that guests can work and be recognized throughout the hotel), as well as in meeting space (upon request).  Guestrooms offer wireless Internet access, as well as a plug-in technology panel that allows guests to connect laptops to the 37” high-definition, flat panel TV.  The TV screen can be split between TV and laptop; allowing guests to watch TV and check email at the same time.  In addition, guests can plug an MP3 into the panel, use the panel for play-back from a camcorder and digital camera, and can be docked next to the stylish and plush beds.

“This technology package is a key differentiator for our hotel,” says Director of Sales and Marketing David Keamy.  “Planners are ecstatic that a property has finally responded to their feedback concerning technology.  Their comments have been heard, and are uniquely packaged into this hotel to complement a beautiful design, convenient location and meeting space that really flows.  We have several groups who have chosen our hotel solely based on our superior technology, and are really excited about the endless possibilities this technology can provide for successful meetings.”

The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel will be situated on the South Boston Waterfront, within the 1,000-acre, mixed-use development called the Seaport District.  Cambridge, Massachusetts, architects, Stubbins Associates, created the sleek 21-story building, which redefines the waterfront skyline, with a design inspired by the sails of a ship billowing in the wind.  The hotel’s interior design, developed by Beverly Hills, California-based Cheryl Rowley Design, weaves marine-inspired elements, vivid colors and dramatic finishes into the hotel’s custom-crafted artwork, furnishings and fixtures.  The hotel offers 471 guestrooms and 21 suites, over 21,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 10,700-square-foot ballroom and a 4,400-square-foot junior ballroom, both on the same level.  The hotel’s onsite restaurant, under the direction of acclaimed chef and restaurateur Michael Schlow, will feature outdoor seating, a chef’s table and an exhibition kitchen.  Guests will enjoy a Starbucks® Café, a lobby lounge, a fitness center with lap pool, spa treatment rooms and an outdoor terrace, as well as a 24-hour business center.
