The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired Jeffrey Willenbrink as director of online marketing to help boost the destination’s presence online. In this position, Willenbrink oversees the bureau’s online marketing campaign, technology innovation programs, search engine optimization and Web site development.

“Jeffrey’s entrepreneurial approach to e-commerce, online marketing and branding has proven to be both efficient and effective,” said Lauren Simons, vice president of marketing at the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “His knowledge and enthusiasm will help us attract new customers to Scottsdale.”

Willenbrink comes to the Scottsdale bureau as an e-commerce consultant working with clients in Scottsdale and St. Louis, Mo., where he provided online marketing and e-commerce strategies to clients. He also has previous online marketing experience as a senior client service lead at Outrider North America and as chief operating officer of Way Technology, both of St. Louis. A graduate of Webster University, Willenbrink also is a Yahoo! Search Marketing Ambassador.

The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau is responsible for marketing Scottsdale as a premier travel destination to national and international target audiences, including meeting and incentive planners, travel agents, tour operators and individual tourists.
