I have a really sad situation here at the hotel. One of our staff members just found out her 2 year old daughter has full blown leukemia. Her blood is 100% infected with the cancer. She is in Joe DiMaggio Hospital and since Friday has had 3 operations, she is in surgery right now. Lilly the mother is estranged from her husband, no support from him at all. and like most of us, she lives from paycheck to paycheck, working 2 jobs full time. The doctor bills are enormous, but that can wait. The baby will probably be in the hospital for months, in and out. Lilly will have to take Michaela to chemo 2 x's a week. She is so worried that she will have her car repossessed and evicted from her home. She cannot work, you can imagine the state she is in.
