One of the newest condominium-hotel properties in Orlando, Premier Resorts’ The Point Orlando Resort (www.thepoint-orlando.com), has named JIM FRANKLIN as its new general manager. The property, which opened in January, is in the heart of the International Drive Entertainment District at the corner of Universal Blvd. and Carrier Drive.

Franklin, who resides in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., most recently worked for Magna Hospitality, based in East Greenwich, R.I., as a Task Force general manager. He was also regional vice president of Magna’s Boutique Division.

He started his career with Hilton Hotels in San Francisco, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C., and also worked with Grand Heritage Hotels in Birmingham, Palm Beach, Chicago, and St. Louis, managing downtown historic properties.

Franklin is a graduate of Washington State University where he received a B.A. in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. He is single and enjoys hiking and bicycling. The Point Orlando Resort is a condominium-hotel, featuring all the amenities and services of a hotel, but with more space, more comfort, and more privacy than a typical hotel room.
