The award-winning ROSEN PLAZA HOTEL, located in the heart of the Orlando International Drive resort area and ideally situated next to the Orange County Convention Center, has just completed a multi-million dollar renovation of its 60,000 sq. ft. meeting/event space, including the 26,000 sq. ft. Grand Ballroom, 22 meeting rooms and two permanent registration areas. Additionally, the hotel has replaced all of the beds and linens throughout its 800 rooms.
Custom carpeting, decorative lighting, luxurious wall treatments and plush, comfortable seating are the highlights of the renovation, which bring a fresh, updated and even more luxurious feel to the hotel's meeting space.
The custom-made, Axminster-woven carpet is the focal point of the redesign - it features a repeating pattern of 30-foot-wide medallions into which more intricate patterns are woven. The color palette of muted blue-greens tinged with bronze-corals and blue-teals helps to create a relaxed, yet elegant style that is neither too traditional nor too contemporary.
Adding to the upscale ambiance of the space, gold Damask silk-like fabric lines the walls of the Grand Ballroom and meeting rooms, accented with custom millwork and functional yet decorative sconces. Wall and ceiling lighting is entirely dimmable, making it ideal for both business meetings as well as social events such as weddings or balls.
Alcoves outside the ballrooms and salons have been redesigned for both conversation and wireless setup. Comfortable seating is abundant in pre-function areas, with gracefully carved wooden chairs and plush window-seat cushions in the same inviting tones as the carpeting.
New Luxurious Guestrooms
The hotel's 800 guestrooms also received a makeover. Beds were replaced with a luxurious Simmons Beauty Rest bed with a plush pillow-top mattress that was custom designed for Rosen Hotels & Resorts. Crisp, white Centima sheeting and duvet covers, made with 75 percent ring-spun cotton, as well as plush goose down comforters and pillows create a soothing haven for relaxation after a long day or work or play. Scroll-patterned bed scarves, or throws, in a calming gold hue, accented with a darker gold, are draped across the bed, accenting the striped gold bed skirts. Altogether, the effect brightens each guestroom and creates a more open, inviting atmosphere for Rosen Plaza guests.
"In today's competitive meetings market, it's important to offer our clients and guests the level of comfort and amenities they deserve. While we continued to win many awards for our facilities each year, we felt it was necessary to give our meeting space a more updated look and feel," said Victoria Hall, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Rosen Plaza. "Needless to say, the transformation is simply stunning - everything from the comfortable furnishings to the rich color palette is warm and inviting."
The multi award-winning Rosen Plaza features 800 deluxe guest rooms. In addition, it offers 60,000 square feet of flexible meeting space that includes a 26,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom and 22 individual meeting rooms. Rosen Plaza features an innovative off-site airport check-in service that it is offering called BAGS Inc. (Baggage Airline Guest Services). Approved by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, BAGS allows guests to obtain their boarding passes and check bags at the hotel for a small fee. Bags are scanned by TSA representatives, and then transferred to a secure vehicle and routed to the airport.
Four on-site restaurants include Jack's Place with casual fine dining. Café Matisse offers buffets as well as full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Rossini's Pizza serves fresh pizza and Italian specialties to go. The Lite Bite is open 24 hours a day and serves deli sandwiches and snacks.
