SHELLY WOOD has been named sales manager for the West Virginia-based and AAA Four Diamond-rated Stonewall Resort. Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing for Stonewall Resort, made the announcement.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Shelley’s caliber on board at Stonewall,” said Ludwig. “Her understanding of the hospitality industry, knowledge of the Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania marketplace and network of corporate and group relationships is outstanding.”
Ms. Wood brings 17 years of hospitality marketing experience to her new position. She served as a senior sales manager and sales manager, respectively, for the Hilton Pittsburgh and Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh.
In her new role with Stonewall Resort, she will market the 2,000-acre, lakeside property to businesses and organizations in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region. Stonewall Resort is located two hours south of Pittsburgh.
Ms. Wood is a member of the board of directors and vice-president of member services for the Pittsburgh Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, a member of the Religious Conference Management Association and participates in the Pittsburgh Society of Association Executives, Pittsburgh Business Travel Association and Pittsburgh Technology Council.
A Penn State University graduate in Hotel Management, Ms. Wood is married with two children and resides in Mars, Pennsylvania.
