FORWARD TO A FRIEND CALENDAR OF EVENTS

The 357-room Inn of CHICAGO MAGNIFICENT MILE celebrates one year of “Inn-dependence” this July, having spent the last year as a boutique hotel unaffiliated with a national chain.  The occasion is celebrated with the completion and unveiling of its $1.1 million renovation of the top floor Sky Suites and Outdoor Skyline Terrace.  The one-of-a-kind space further enhances this property, making it a unique choice among a sea of chain hotels.

The exceptional renovation allows guests to either combine the entire floor of suites and its outdoor terrace for the ultimate in private events, or enjoy the contemporary rooms and terrace with breathtaking views of the surrounding city landscape.

“The property’s long history as one of Chicago’s premier boutique hotels helped support our transformation from a chain-represented property to the independent hotel we offer today,” said Birgit Radin, managing director for Inn of Chicago.

This second phase of renovations follows a comprehensive $6 million interior renovation of 58 executive rooms, the hotel’s lobby, meeting space, boardroom and the addition of the chic InnBar lounge last year when owners Chartres Lodging Group, LLC (formerly Oxford Lodging Advisory & Investment Group, LLC) purchased the property and converted it to an independent, boutique hotel.

Elegantly Retro
Designed by Vancouver-based interior specialists at Doris Hager & Associates, the newly renovated 22nd floor suites at the Inn of Chicago overlooking the Chicago skyline have been aptly named the “Sky Suites.”  A 1,500 square foot private terrace with southern and western views can be accessed through two adjoining suites that are furnished with Murphy beds to allow these rooms to serve as a gathering place for receptions that flow directly on to the terrace.

Guest room walls are clad in a white organic shaped wall covering, paired with a striped carpet in varying blue grays. This sets the stage for lush avocado green
fabrics contrasted by deep blue hues. Washrooms portray a mix of old and new; where crisp white tiles have been paired with a fashionable pinstriped wall covering. The art and furniture style are a mix of linear modernist shapes coupled with vogue hints from the past. Blending the past with the present results in a room that is elegantly retro.

The Skyline Terrace is furnished with handsome outdoor furnishings including dark brown wicker-like woven love seats and chairs complemented by celadon, cream and brown striped cushions, and matching ottomans and side tables.

The suites can now be utilized as spectacular individual rooms, or collectively reserved along with the wrap-around outdoor terrace for uniquely private special occasions events.

The Sky’s the Limit package offers the ultimate in privacy
Events of 75-100 guests can easily be accommodated in this coveted location.  An entire-floor package called The Sky’s the Limit includes exclusive access to and rental of all nine suites plus reserved use of the Outdoor Skyline Terrace for the ultimate in privacy. Prices for this distinctive package begin at $4,000 per night, based on availability plus tax.  Food and beverage options are plentiful, but one popular choice is a two-hour cocktail and hors d’oeuvres party which begins at $60 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Small weddings or corporate gatherings for events such as the Air & Water Show can be spectacular times to choose this package.

“We consciously ensured that the suites are designed with flexible space that can be used as guestrooms, or as a unique event space, and we are thrilled with the final results,” said Nichole Benolken, hotel manager.  “This one of its kind space is a true find in the City of Chicago, and we’re happy to bring this phase to an end,” she added.
