The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired ANNE PASHIA to fill its vacant national sales manager position for the Northeastern United States market and promoted KELLI HODGE to national sales manager for the social, military, educational, religious, fraternal and sports markets.
As a sales manager in the northeast region, Pashia will focus primarily on association, incentive and corporate meetings by attending trade shows, conducting sales calls and hosting client events in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Pashia has more than 19 years of experience in tourism and hospitality. Before joining the Scottsdale bureau, she worked as the director of sales and marketing at the Mondrian Scottsdale, where she was recognized as sales director of the year with Morgans Hotel Group’s “Follow Me” award. In addition, Pashia has held positions in marketing and sales at the James Hotel Scottsdale, the Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas and the Renaissance Scottsdale Resort.
The new national sales manager position for niche markets will be filled by Kelli Hodge. Although the Scottsdale bureau previously marketed to these groups, Hodge will further the bureau’s outreach to specialized markets by working closely with these meeting planners to expand the types of groups holding meetings in Scottsdale. Hodge has been with the Scottsdale bureau since 2007 working as a convention sales coordinator.
During the Scottsdale bureau’s 2007-08 fiscal year (July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008), the convention sales team booked more than $61 million in meetings business. The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau is responsible for marketing Scottsdale as a premier travel destination to national and international target audiences, including meeting and incentive planners, travel agents, tour operators and individual tourists.
