The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB) has named WALDEN AGUSTIN regional director of sales for the Midwest.

Agustin will be responsible for generating both citywide and self-contained business (groups needing only hotel meeting space) in the Midwest, and serve as the Bureau’s in-market representative for the Chicago area.

“Walden is the ideal candidate for this important position, having worked previously for the SFCVB in our San Francisco office as well as with a number of major hotels in the city," said Kenley Moy, senior director, national sales offices, for the SFCVB.  "His strong knowledge of San Francisco and convention center business, and existing relationships with Chicago-area customers will be major assets for our hotel partners and our city."

Originally from Hawaii, Agustin earned a degree in hospitality management at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. He worked in San Francisco for the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf, Grand Hyatt San Francisco, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, and Hilton San Francisco.  His most recent position was as regional director of accounts, Midwest, with the Hawaii Convention Center.
