The Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square has recently named JACYN THOMPSON as sales manager. His responsibilities include sales for the integrated facility of both the convention center and the adjoining 300-room hotel, a combined 90,000 square feet of meeting space, scheduled to open in Spring 2009. Thompson resides in Mountville, Penn., in Lancaster County.

Previously, Thompson, of West Columbia, S.C., worked in sales and marketing at The Hilton-Columbia Center and The Colonial Center. He brings strong experience in group business to his new position. Thompson holds a degree in Sports and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina.

“We are thrilled to have Jacyn as part of our sales management staff,” said Josh Nowak, director of sales & marketing for the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square. “Jacyn’s understanding of group sales, combined with his proven track record, make him a valuable addition to our growing team.”

“I am very excited to be part of such a dynamic team during the opening of new facility. My goal is to make an impact with clients by providing exceptional service and follow up to ensure events run smoothly,” added Thompson.

Built at and around the former Watt & Shand department store in historic Penn Square, the $170 million Lancaster duo is centrally located to northeast metropolitan cities and is the cornerstone to the revitalization of downtown Lancaster.
