Andrew Hendricks, recently appointed area director of sales for The GEM Hotel brand, will be overseeing sales operations for The GEM Hotel Chelsea.  He is also responsible for the new hotel’s sister properties, The GEM Hotel Midtown West and The GEM Hotel SoHo.

Hendricks comes from Hersha Hospitality Management, where he served as senior area sales manager.  He began his career more than two decades ago with Ritz-Carlton, as the director of catering and destination management in Naples, Florida.  From there he went on to start his own company, Sky’s the Limit Productions, focusing on the incentive market.  Hendricks attended the University of Miami, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. 

Philip Cham, General Manager
Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea, The GEM Hotel

The Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea named Philip Cham as general manager of the newly-opened property.  Designed by Michael Graves, the 124-room property was the first Wyndham Garden Hotel to open in Manhattan.

Most recently, Cham held the position of general manager at the Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown.  His 10-year hospitality career includes general manager roles at Towneplace Suites by Marriott in Albany, New York, and the Fairfield Inn by Marriott, LaGuardia.  Cham received a degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.

Nicole Barr, Director of Sales
Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea, The GEM Hotel

The Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea announced Nicole Barr as director of sales.  With introductory nightly rates starting from $159, the hotel is well positioned as a value choice for travelers in Manhattan.

Prior to joining the hotel, which opened in mid-November, Barr was the sales manager for Alliance Hospitality.  She previously served as New York City area sales manager for Hersha Hospitality Management, and also held sales positions at Community Media, LLC and Medical Evaluation Specialists.  Barr received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
