MOUNT WASHINGTON RESORT in Bretton Woods, NH, recently debuted an additional 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space. This is part of the Resort’s recent $50 million renovation which further defines the historic Grande Dame as a four-season resort destination. The expansion brings the Resort’s total event space to 30,000 square feet, with 18 unique meeting rooms, making the property an even more ideal locale for business retreats, group events, meetings and weddings.
From intimate boardrooms to large ballrooms with panoramic views of the Presidential Mountain Range, including Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, the Resort’s expanded space has been designed to accommodate groups of up to 1,000 people. The property has introduced six new meeting rooms named after past Presidents – Washington, Jefferson, Reagan, Monroe, Madison and Adams. These meeting rooms located on The Hotel’s patio level range from 800 to 3,600 square feet and reflect the same grand architecture, high ceilings and stately design as The Hotel’s existing meeting rooms. In addition to the 900-foot wrap-around Veranda, which recently underwent an extensive restoration, the new Jewell Terrace, offers a superb venue for outdoor affairs during the warmer-weather months. The Jewell Terrace is a rooftop garden that extends from the Veranda and tops the expanded meeting facility, offering stunning views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Mountain Range. The new Presidential Garden, located adjacent to The Hotel, is another ideal spot for outdoor events.
Each of the new meeting rooms includes installed high-speed DSL Internet wired connections and WiFi connectivity. Custom-installed teleconferencing systems with wireless boundary microphones, LCD projectors, cameras, custom-tuned Bose sound systems, and motorized screens and window blinds are also offered in select rooms.
The Resort staff is skilled in orchestrating events for any agenda, in facilities adaptable to suit every special requirement. A Conference Coordinator is assigned to each event and works with the client directly to ensure all needs are met. In addition to over 100 years’ experience in hosting gala affairs, The Resort is world-renowned for having hosted the Bretton Woods International Monetary Conference in 1944, when over 700 delegates from 44 nations congregated at The Mount Washington Hotel and established the rules for commercial and financial relations that stabilized the world economy in the aftermath of World War II.
Mount Washington Resort offers a wide array of group packages that include lodging accommodations, meals, morning and afternoon breaks, group activities, spa sessions and event space.
The expanded meeting and event space is just one of many significant renovations and enhancements that have taken place over the past two years at Mount Washington Resort. A full-service 25,000-square-foot spa also recently debuted along with the new meeting space. A $2 million restoration of The Hotel’s Veranda, Great Hall and Dining Room was completed in May 2007 and the 18-hole Mount Washington Course was caringly restored to its original Donald Ross design and reopened for play in August 2008. In addition, the new eco-friendly Bretton Woods Canopy Tour was installed at the Resort’s ski area, offering an exciting year-round world-class attraction for outdoor enthusiasts. Plans for the proposed development of approximately 1,000 new homes and homesites over the next decade are also underway.
